Export options defined

Date spacer

Select a character to separate elements in a date such as the day, month and year. This can help match regional or system-specific date formats.

Examples:

  • Slash (/):  09/01/2025
  • Dash (-): 09-01-2025
  • Space( ): 09 01 2025

Date format

Specify the order and structure of the date. This ensures your exported data aligns with the formats used in your organization.

Examples:

  • mmm-dd-yyyy: Abbreviated month format
  • mmmm-dd-yyyy: Full month format
  • mm-dd-yyyy: Numeric format

Include time stamp (when data is available)

Add a time stamp to date fields (hours, minutes, seconds), when data is available. This will be important for logs, delivery windows or any time-sensitive data. If the timestamp is not available in the source, only the date will be exported.

Example output: 09/01/2025 14:35:00

Date preview

See a live preview of your selected date format, separator, and timestamp. Use this to confirm your settings before exporting.

Delimiter format (.csv only)

Select the character that separates values in a .csv file. Select the delimiter that works best with your tools, such as Excel or ERP systems that require a specific delimiter format:

  • Comma , (standard for CSV)
  • Colon :
  • Semicolon ;
  • Tab
  • Pipe |

Text string definition

Define how text fields are enclosed or formatted in the export.

Common options:

  • Double quotes (" "):  "Example Text"
Note: Double quotes help prevent errors when fields contain special characters like commas or new lines, especially in CSV files.
  • None: Example Text

Example: If a field contains the value, John Smith, New York, NY, Package left at reception

  • With Double quotes: "John Smith, New York, NY, Package left at reception". The value stays together in one field, with no misalignment .
  • Without double quotes: The value becomes four separate columns: "John Smith” , “New York”, “NY”, “Package left at reception".

Best practices

  • Preview your settings before exporting to ensure the format aligns with your needs.
  • Match delimiters and formats to the systems you are using.
  • Confirm the appropriate date format and delimiter preferences to avoid confusion.
  • Use double quotes as the default unless your system requires otherwise. If your data includes commas, line breaks, or quotes, never export without double quotes.
