SendPro Enterprise version 8.52.00 Release Notes (August 5, 2022)

Note: Some changes affect all SendPro Enterprise users, while other changes affect licensed users only. If you are a subscriber, your SendPro Enterprise is hosted in the Pitney Bowes cloud with the address https://name.sendproenterprise.com, where "name" is your organization's unique value. If you are a licensed user, your SendPro Enterprise is not hosted in the Pitney Bowes cloud.

Breaking Changes

The following breaking changes have been identified in this release:

Code Translations. Payer Type.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Reverse Code Translation selection now takes BillingPayerType into account. This is a potentally breaking change as any code translations which are configured with billing payer type identifiers will now become active for selection during code translation lookups. If Code Translations are in use, please make sure to select a valid Payer Type for each custom code in the Administration App so the updated selection behavior works correctly.

Headline Enhancements

The following headline enhancements have been implemented in SendPro Enterprise:

Personal Shipping App. Added improvements to Personal Shipping user interface.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Updated interface to focus on ease of operation for users, including My Shipments tab, label reprint, label void, improved popup blocked notification, and successful shipment options.

Address Book. Added support for multiple contact row selection and bulk deletion.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Users can now select multiple contact rows within the Address book and delete selected rows, across multiple Address Book pages, if required. Note, if only one contact row is selected, the bulk deletion option will not be enabled.

View App. Improvements to View App search filtering.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

App has been update to add new filter drop-down controlling which columns are searched when performing a query in the View App. This allows for finer control to filter out unwanted records that might contain similar data to the search term. Other search criteria have been re-positioned to accommodate new selections. New search filtering criteria includes:

Carrier Changes

The following carrier changes have been implemented for SendPro Enterprise:

Banyan. Updated UPS Ground Freight Pricing shipment handling to return multipack labels.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Corrected an issue where multipack ZPL labels were not passed correctly when additional output documents were requested. Multiple labels will now be returned as expected.

FedEx Server. Resolved issue with incorrect Total Commodity Value calculations for IPD multipack shipments.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Amended Pierbridge Ship Request to resolve an issue occurring when attempting to process multipack shipments. This resulted in incorrect Total Commodity Value calculations whereby each package’s total value was added and passed in the FSMS settings field 119. IPD multipack shipments now function as expected.

UPS API. Updated Pierbridge Time In Transit Request.xslt to pass ResidentialAddressIndicator.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

The request xslt has been amended to pass the ResidentialAddressIndicator when shipping to a residential address. Additionally, an amendment has been made to the UPS API connector to handle UPS 3-Day Select service correctly regarding Saturday deliveries, such that:

• Shipments to residential addresses using UPS 3-Day Select service will now allow Saturday delivery without adding Saturday Delivery special service when UPS determine this is to be available.
• Shipments to commercial addresses using UPS 3-Day Select service will now allow Saturday delivery if the Saturday Delivery special service is selected when UPS determine this is to be available.

FedEx Web Services. Updated International Priority connector service names.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Resolved an issue where the incorrect service names were being sent in FedEx Web Services connector. Updated service names now correctly sent to carrier for services FedEx International Priority and FedEx International Priority Express.

Personal Shipping. Addressed potential vulnerability with cross-site scripting (XSS) to increase data security.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Encoding has been added on the carrier response to securely handle HTML tags in request.

PB Shipping API. Reverted a previous change that prevented changing PB Shipping API header values.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

This change prevented updating settings of type 1 and 2 using Postman, which has been reverted, Users can once again update these values.

Administration App. Carriers.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Fixed issue with Security Credential field. Fixed issue whereby the Security Credential field for certain carriers, where these are required, was not editable. The affected carriers are:

• UPS API
• UPS Freight API
• FedEx SmartPost Web Services
• FedEx Web Services
• FedEx Freight Web Services

FedEx Web Services. Updated Address Validation behavior for postal code.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

When using FedEx Web Services and a partial or incomplete postal code is entered, Address Validation now properly suggests a correction to the address with the the valid postal code.

FedEx Server. Fixed an issue that was causing an exception event seen with International Priority Direct on ConsolidatedClose.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Exception will no longer be thrown when closing an FSMS consolidated trailer.

UPS API. Resolved issue with domestic hazardous shipments sending incorrect Regulatory Set.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Domestic hazardous shipments within the US and CA were using the incorrect Regulatory Set for some UPS services. This has been fixed and CFR is now used for all domestic services of UPS API.

UPS API. Resolved issue when both Bill Payer Type and Duty Payer Type were set to Third Party.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Third party shipping and duty charges will now pass correctly to the carrier when used on the same shipment.

FedEx Server. Various updates to FSMS branding and special service names.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

This includes the following changes:

• FedEx Server Special Services name change:
  • Hold at FedEx Location is now Hold at Location
• Options for FedEx Home Delivery have changed:
  • Appointment is now FedEx Appointment Home Delivery
  • Date Certain is now FedEx Date Certain Home Delivery
  • Evening is now FedEx Evening Home Delivery

Smart Kargo. New carrier added to onboarding wizard.

Affects licensed SendPro Enterprise users only.

Carrier can now be added via carrier onboarding wizard, and supports setup of account number and optional carrier label.

Banyan. Updated Pierbridge Rate and Rate Shop to include Shipping Instructions when using Banyan carrier and Local Courier US Pack.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Shipping Instructions field will now be passed as a shipment-level variable that acts as Shipping Notes.

Dicom. Dicom carrier has been renamed to GLS.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Carrier onboarding wizard has been updated to reflect this change.

Carrier Tracking Portal. Various updates to ensure carrier tracking portal data security.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Tracking portal has been updated to only allow connections over HTTPS, ensuring secure transmission of identifiers and credentials as encrypted data.

Other Changes

The following other changes have been implemented in SendPro Enterprise:

Reports App. Fixed issue with dropdowns failing to display on app load.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

This has now been resolved.

P44. Resolved issue with special service display for custom carriers.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Resolved issue whereby creating a custom carrier with P44 caused display issues for the special service list in the carrier dropdown within shipping apps.

SendPro Enterprise Setup. Resolved issue with Admin User deletion during SendPro Enterprise Setup import from older product version to an on-prem instance.

Affects licensed SendPro Enterprise users only.

This has now been resolved.

Logistics Server. Corrected cached dataset exception.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

A defect in Logistics Server has been corrected such that if a cached dataset is empty, using the dataset no longer raises an exception when looking up currency codes.

Business Rules Engine. A new parameter has been added to bypass the BRE when sending blackbox requests.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

An amendment to the Business Rules processor has been made such that if a blackbox call is made to the XmlProcessor and a ByPassBRE parameter has been added to the call, regardless of the value passed in the parameter, the Business Rules Engine (BRE) will not be called for any transaction.

Please Note: The parameter is CASE SENSITIVE.

HubCapp Peripheral Agent. Resolved connection issues.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Resolved connection issues whereby peripheral agent details are now validated so that for on premise installs the connection requires HTTP or HTTPS detail to be entered at the start of the HubCapp URL during configuration to allow the connection to be created successfully.

Data Management. Improvements to SFTP password handling.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

SFTP passwords are now populated in the User Interface and encrypted when stored in the database to mirror password handling throughout SendPro Enterprise.

Personal Shipping App. Fixed issue with Residential flag mapping.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

The Residential flag is now mapped correctly from the Pierbridge Ship Request to the Carrier Request for specific usages.

Data Management App. Corrected behavior performing imports and exports with SFTP locations.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

An issue has been fixed whereby some SFTP servers would report invalid file path errors during import and export.

Warehouse App. Resolved loading issues on order load in Firefox browser.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

The Warehouse App now loads as expected.

SendPro Enterprise. Pierbridge Track Response.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Resolved issue with Pierbridge Track Response failing to indicate which package is associated with the corresponding history record A PackageID element has been added to the Pierbridge Track Response to indicate which package identifier is associated with a particular history record.

Shipment History Snippet. Fixed issue with Order Number failing to display under History tab in Shipping Apps.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

This has now been resolved.

Shipping Apps. Return Address behavior updated when "Use Ship From Address" is checked.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

When "Use Ship From Address" is checked on the Return Address tab, and the Ship From values are modified by selecting a different user, the following fields are now passed to the Return Address tab: From (Name), Company, and Phone.

Data Management App. Corrected file naming behavior when export only contains one file.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Exports of only a single file will now return to prior behavior with no appended filename suffix after timestamp. Exports containing multiple files will continue current behavior of ordering with timestamp and incrementally numbered suffix.

Data Management. Improvements made to Shipment Transactions db view with additional fields populated for Stamps data export.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

The following fields are now populated with Stamps data, and can be exported as part of the Shipments Transactions db view:

• WeightExact
• MailUser
• CarrierService Name
• DateOccurred
• PackageHistoryUserName
• PackageHistoryTimeLog

Personal Shipping App. Improvements to Shipper’s email detail parsing.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Shipper’s email is now passed to WTG Parcel to ensure the shipper receives an email when shipping, primarily with the Personal Shipping App, but additionally with other Apps where this detail is required as well.

Personal Shipping App. Updated shipping label output.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Shipping labels now correctly rotated to print on letter paper stock, allowing page to be folded for attachment.

Support Options. Updates to Help menu from within apps.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Help list items now combined into a single unified list.

Administration App. Added additional functions to External Callbacks.

Affects licensed SendPro Enterprise users only.

Added Functions to the search API so details can be used to build up the UI for functions that support external callbacks. Additional enhancements to UI also improves functionality when editing row data.

Administration App. Corrected issue with Reverse Code Translation request node BillingPayerType not being correctly passed.

Affects licensed SendPro Enterprise users only.

An issue has been corrected whereby the BillingPayerType configuration was not being used when performing a reverse code translation. This is a potentally breaking change as any code translations which are configured with billing payer type identifiers will now become active for selection during code translation lookups. Previously, codes were never selected based on the billing payer type. For example, given two rows configured whereby one had a billing payer type and one did not, the one which did not would always be selected previously. However, following this change, the second row might now be selected if the billing payer type of the shipment matches what is configured for the code translation.
