Changing the modem string on the on the DM300C-DM475
Changing the modem string will slow down the modem speed on the DM300C, DM400 or DM475, which will provide a better chance of the meter connecting to the Pitney Bowes Data Center.

- Press Menu.
- Press Page Down.
- Select Data Center Options.
- Select Phone Settings.
- Press Page Down.
- Select Modem String.
- Select Continue.
- Select Edit Options to change the modem string. The current modem string displays at the top of the string.
- (Optional) Select Restore Defaults to restore the modem string to the default to ATE0&K0M1X4W2S9=50S7=90^M.
- The current modem string displays at the top of the string.
- Select Move Cursor Left two times. The cursor now appear on the "^".
- Open the cover to access the Alpha numeric keypad.
- Press and hold Symbol and press G (+).
- Press and hold Shift and press M, then S.
- Press and hold Symbol and press A (=).
- Press and hold Shift and press V.
- On the numeric keypad, press 3 and then press 2.
- Press and hold Symbol and press B (^).
- Press and hold Shift and press M.
- Verify the string shows ATE0&K0M1X4W2S9=50S7=90+MS=V32^M. Important: Only the last 21 characters of the string appear on the screen, including the changes applied: MS=V32^M.
- Select OK.
- Select Accept.
- Select Done/Enter.
- Press Normal Preset.
