Stuck in manual weight mode on the DM300C-DM475

Issue

You cannot exit manual weight mode.

Cause

Your machine cannot detect the scale. This issue usually occurs following a cartridge replacement, when the scale gets temporarily removed.

Resolution

Follow these steps to resolve your issue:

1. Check serial port settings
2. Reseat the scale and restart the machine
3. Set a normal preset

Step 1: Check serial port settings

1. Press Menu.
2. Select Setup.
3. Press Page Down.
4. Select Serial Port.
5. Select Attached Scale.
6. Press Home.

If your issue is not resolved, try step 2.

Step 2: Reseat the scale and restart the machine

1. Unplug the power cord.
2. Remove the scale.
3. Plug power cord back in while keeping the scale off the machine.
4. Once the machine starts up, reinstall the scale. Ensure that there are no gaps between the scale and the meter.
5. Check that the meter is in Scale Mode:
   1. Press the Weight Rate button.
   2. Select Rate Mail on Scale if present.
6. Select Class.
7. Select Letterpost. If the selection is not available, go to step h.
8. Select Dom Standard.
9. Select any required services if needed.
10. Press Enter.
11. Verify that the top of the screen displays 0 g. If the screen does not display 0 g, Zero the Scale.

If your issue is not resolved, try step 3.

Step 3: Set a normal preset

1. Press Menu.
2. Press Page Down and select Preset Options.
3. Select Set Normal Preset.
4. Select Yes.
5. Press Home.
