Processing Move Updates in ConnectRight Mailer
Move ID will allow you to compare the names and addresses in your mail list against the USPS National Change of Address (NCOA) directory, and update the records with the new address.

Move ID allows you to compare the names and addresses in your mail list against the USPS National Change of Address (NCOA) directory, and update the records with the new address.
Compare addresses in your mail list with NCOA
- Select MoveID from the left hand side.
- The MoveID (NCOALink) window appears with default items selected.
- Note: Verify is performed before MoveID to maximize matching and again after MoveID to assign address fields for records that changed

- Select a radio button for the name matching logic:
- Standard (Business, Individual, Family). (Recommended)
- Individual (To limit matches to individuals only).
- (Optional) Select the radio buttons for the required classes of mail.
- (Optional) Enter your Entry point ZIP Code.
- Note: The information in the USPS Requested information is not required. The data entered will be used by USPS to compile statistical information.
- Before you can run the Move Update function, you will need to submit a Process Acknowledgment Form (PAF).
- The USPS requires a PAF so they can comply with federal privacy regulations. When the USPS shares NCOALink information, they must be able to track access to that data.
- Select Find PAF.
- If you do not have a PAF established, the PAF list will be blank. Learn how to create a new Process Acknowledgment Form.
- If you have created one or more PAFs, they are displayed in the Find Process Acknowledgment Form box.
- Click the radio button next to the PAF you would like to use for this mailing list and click Select.
- Click Run or Run MoveID Only.
- Click Run.
- Click Merge if a message appears about your match rate.
- Select Ok when the job processing status is complete.
Your mail list is updated with any moves ConnectRight Mailer found.
Modify your mailing list records
- Select Mail List and click Mail List Control Panel.
- Scroll to COA_MOVDAT and select the check mark in the visible column for the following options:
- COA_MOVDAT : This shows the date the move became effective.
- COA_MOVTYP: This shows the type of match such as a business or individual.
- COA_RTNCOD : This shows more information about NCOALink matches such as moved without a forwarding address.
- Select Modify.
- Additional columns for COA_MOVDAT, COA_MOVTYP, and COA_RTNCOD are visible at the end of each row indicating which records were modified by Move Update
- Click Move up or Move down to change the field order.
- The information contained in the new columns is coded. A complete list of those codes is contained in the help file.
