PitneyShip Release Notes version 1.97.0 (February 7, 2025)
Products affected: PitneyShip®
New Features & Enhancements
Importer of Record UPS
An Importer of Record (IOR) ensures that imported goods comply with all customs regulations. This includes managing paperwork, valuing goods, and paying associated fees such as duties and tariffs. Additionally, the IOR must adhere to the destination country's import laws.
By default, the IOR address is set to that of the recipient, but it can be changed if necessary. The IOR information is recorded in the shipment history and on the UPS invoice. The IOR field is optional by default. If IOR is marked as mandatory, a Tax Identification Number (TIN) is required.
Default Sender Address information icon
Added an information icon next to the Sender section to help users. This icon includes steps on how to update a user's default sender address.
Rate Shop total charges
In the previous version of Rate Shop, users could only view the base charges. After selecting a service, they would then see the total charges, which included both base charges and surcharges.
Now, users will see the Total Package Charges directly, rather than just the base charges. For a detailed cost breakdown, users can refer to the sidebar under View Detailed Cost. This change applies to all carriers.
USPS credit card admin fee
Users will now see the Credit Card Admin Fee listed in the USPS Postage Refill Receipt email. Previously, this fee was only displayed in the Postage History report.
Expired credit cards status on Add Postage screen
If a user attempts to add funds using an expired credit card linked to their profile, the Expired status will appear on the Add Postage screen next to each card that has expired.
User-friendly Add Payment Method redesign
Updated the Add Credit Card and ACH Payments buttons for improved user-friendliness. These buttons are located on the Payment Methods screen under the Wallet tab.
Total billable weight
The total billable weight is the weight that carriers use to calculate shipping rates. It can be the actual weight of the item or the dimensional weight, depending on which is greater.
This weight will be displayed in the history section and will also be included in exported .CSV files from the History page.
This policy applies to all carriers that provide this weight information.
