Envelopes print to the wrong tray in PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterpriseon a Mac
There are several possible solutions if envelopes are printing to the wrong tray on a Mac.

Issue
When printing envelopes in PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise on a Mac, the envelopes print to the wrong tray.
Resolution
- Solution 1: Verify envelope settings
- Solution 2: Verify correct paper size on printer
- Solution 3: Change the paper size in CUPS printer manager
Solution 1: Verify that the correct envelope settings are selected
- In PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise, select Settings > Stamp Options.
- Change the Envelope Size to the type of envelope you are using.
- Change Printer to the printer you are using.
- Change the Printer Tray to the tray being used for envelopes.
- Select Advanced Printer Settings for Envelopes and choose the correct options for your printer.
- Go back to the Print Envelopes screen and select Test Print.
- Select the printer in question.
- Select Print Stamps.
Solution 2: Verify that the correct paper size is selected on your printer
- Select the Apple icon.
- Select System Preferences.
- Open Printers & Scanners.
- Select the envelope printer.
- From the Default paper size menu, select Envelope #10.
- Return to PitneyShip or PitneyShip Pro and try again.

Some of these troubleshooting steps require you to make changes to your printer’s default settings, which may affect other programs. If you wish to avoid changing settings back and forth between PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise and other programs, we recommend you first install a duplicate instance of your printer by creating custom printer settings dedicated to PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise.
Solution 3: Change the paper size in CUPS printer manager
- Open Safari.
- Type http://localhost:631 in the address bar and press Enter.
- If Web Interface is Disabled appears:
- Click the magnifying glass in the upper right.
- Type Terminal in the search box, then click the Terminal icon.
- Type cupsctl WebInterface=yes and press Enter.
- Close the Terminal.
- Go back to Safari and try http://localhost:631 again.
- If Web Interface is Disabled appears:
- If you are asked to enter your Mac user credentials, do so.
- Click the Administration tab at the top.
- Click Manage Printers.
- Click the Administration menu above the printer description and choose Set Printer Defaults.
- Change the Media Size to Envelope #10 (it may be named COM-10 depending on your printer model).
- Change the Paper Source to the correct printer tray for envelopes
- Click Set Default Options.
- Return to PitneyShip or PitneyShip Pro and try again.
