Setting up a UPS account in PitneyShip or PitneyShip Pro

In order to ship with UPS, you first need to set up your UPS account in PitneyShip or PitneyShip Pro.

In order to ship with UPS, you first need to set up your UPS account in PitneyShip or PitneyShip Pro. You can create a Pitney Bowes UPS Rate account and receive pre-negotiated rate discounts, or an account that is not a Pitney Bowes UPS Rate Account and does not receive our rate discounts.

Important: If you have more than one UPS account number, they must all be registered under a single UPS profile (username) in order to comply with UPS's security standards.

The features and options you see may vary depending upon your role and subscription. If you have any questions regarding your permissions, please contact your administrator.

Pitney Bowes UPS Rate Account

To create a Pitney Bowes UPS Rate account and receive pre-negotiated rate discounts:

  1. Select Settings > Carriers.
  2. Select Add Carrier.
  3. In the Carrier Display Name field, enter a name for the account.
  4. From the Select Carrier menu, select UPS.
  5. Under Access Level, select which divisions and locations will have access to this account:
    • Enterprise: All divisions and locations
    • Division: Select the desired divisions
    • Location: Select the desired locations
  6. Enter a Username and Password for this new UPS account. Note that this process will create a new UPS profile (username), even if you already have one. Make sure that you remember this username and password.
  7. Enter your Billing Address.
  8. Select either Register as Personal account or Register as Business account.
    • For personal accounts:
      • If your personal address is the same as your billing address, select My personal address is the same as my billing address.
      • If your pickup address is the same as your billing address, select My pickup address is the same as my billing address.
      • If you deselect these options, fill in the additional address as needed.
    • For business accounts:
      • If your business address is the same as your billing address, select My business address is the same as my billing address.
      • If your personal address is the same as your billing address, select My personal address is the same as my billing address.
      • If your pickup address is the same as your billing address, select My pickup address is the same as my billing address.
      • If you deselect these options, fill in the additional address as needed.
  9. Select Add Carrier.
  10. Once you see the "Profile created successfully!" message, click OK. You will be directed to a UPS Log In window.
  11. In the UPS Log In window, enter the UPS username you entered in step 6.
  12. Select Continue.
  13. In the Password window, enter the UPS password you entered in step 6.
  14. Select Log In. You will be directed back to the Carriers page and your UPS account should be verified.

Non-Pitney Bowes UPS Rate Account

If you need to add an account that is not a Pitney Bowes UPS Rate Account and does not receive Pitney Bowes's pre-negotiated rate discounts, follow these steps:

  1. Select Settings > Carriers.
  2. Select Add Carrier.
  3. In the Carrier Display Name field, enter a name for the account.
  4. From the Select Carrier menu, select UPS.
  5. Select Enter my UPS Account.

    Note: WorldWide Express invoices cannot be used to link your UPS account. Please use the account information and invoice provided by UPS directly.
  6. In the UPS Account Number field, enter your 6-digit UPS account number. The account number is case-sensitive.
  7. (Optional) In the UPS Account Nickname field, enter a nickname for this account.
  8. Select Add Carrier.
