Important change in how you access UPS® rates and services

What You Need to Know:

To protect your account security, UPS is changing how shipping software, like PitneyShip®, connects to their systems to use UPS rates and print shipping labels. UPS implemented an OAuth 2.0 security model to enhance the overall security for customers, reduce fraud and provide enhanced API capabilities.

This UPS update requires you to use OAuth to authorize your PitneyShip software to perform some actions, like accessing UPS rates or printing UPS labels.

What You Need to Do Now:

To continue shipping and access to special rates with UPS, as well as to avoid delays, you must verify your UPS shipping account by registering it to an existing UPS.com profile if you have not already done so. Accounts with multiple UPS account numbers must register all of them under a single UPS.com profile. To prepare for verification, please gather your UPS.com profile’s username, password, and UPS account numbers.

Steps to create a new UPS account and register to a UPS.com profile.

  1. Click on this link to create a new UPS profile if you do not already have one.
  2. Once account is created and you are signed in, select “Accounts and Payment”.
  3. From the “Add a Payment Method” dropdown, select “Add Existing Account” and it will request that you add your “UPS Account Number”, nickname, and postal code.
  4. You will need either Invoice Data or a PIN to verify your account. This should have been sent to the original email address used at account creation.
  5. Once UPS successfully validates your Invoice Data or PIN, the registration process on UPS.com is now complete.
  6. If you can see all of your account numbers under "Accounts and Payment", then you have successfully completed the UPS.com registration process.

If you already have an existing UPS.com profile, please ensure you have the account’s username and password, and confirm that the UPS account number is registered to the UPS.com profile.
