Pitney Bowes is recognized by 50/50 Women on Boards™ for its Gender Balanced Board of Directors
50/50 Women on Boards™ (50/50WOB), the leading global education and advocacy campaign driving gender balance and diversity on corporate boards, has recognized Pitney Bowes for having a gender-balanced board. This achievement is a powerful example that change at the highest level requires exceptional corporate commitment to reach equity on corporate boards.
“Over the last decade, our 50/50 Women on Boards Gender Diversity Index™ reveals the gradual acceleration of women to corporate boards. However, there is still a significant gap to achieve gender balance,” said Betsy Berkhemer-Credaire, CEO of 50/50 Women on Boards. “It’s critical that we recognize these milestones and acknowledge corporations, such as Pitney Bowes, for leading by example with a gender-balanced corporate board.”
According to the organization, “As of December 31, 2022, only 28.4% of the Russell 3000 Index company board seats were occupied by women, with a mere 11% consisting of gender-balanced boards.” This puts Pitney Bowes in elite standings.
Our diverse, highly skilled board encompasses a range of knowledgeable viewpoints, with women serving as four of our eight independent directors in 2022 and chairing two of the four board committees.
CEO Marc Lautenbach shared, “While it is wonderful to receive the recognition from 50/50 Women on Boards™, our Board composition is about doing the right thing, the right way. We at Pitney Bowes are at the forefront by ensuring our Board is comprised of a strong, engaged, and diverse set of directors, bringing a mix of experience, skills, leadership expertise and new perspectives.”
Early this year, we announced a few changes to our Board of Directors, which you can read more about here.
