Credits for unused postage when returning a meter
Learn how Pitney Bowes credits unused postage to your account after you return a cancelled franking machine or when you receive a replacement franking machine.
Credits when a franking machine is replaced
If a new or replacement franking machine is being sent to you, unused postage from your old machine is transferred to your Pitney Bowes Purchase Power or PrePay account within 5 - 10 working days of the meter return.For more information about replacing your franking machine, see: Returning an upgraded or defective meter.
Credits when a franking machine is cancelled
If you have cancelled your contract and your account balance is zero, the refund of your unused postage will be provided from the Royal Mail via a cheque within 6 weeks.

- Sign in to the Pitney Bowes Your Account portal.
- Select Invoices for Purchase Power or PrePay Accounts from Your Financials.
- Select the Transactions tab to view transactions posted to the account.
- Unused postage credits will show as Unused Postage Re-Credit within the transactions tab.
