Setting up a wired network connection with a SmartLink device on DM Series franking machines
Use a SmartLink device to connect your franking machine to the Pitney Bowes Data Centre.

Use a SmartLink™ device to connect your franking machine to the Pitney Bowes Data Centre.
To configure a wired connection with a SmartLink™ device:
- Connect your SmartLink™ device to an internet jack on the wall or a router with the included network cable.
- Plug one end of the power cord into your SmartLink device and the other end into a power outlet.
- Your SmartLink device’s lights change colour.
- Once your device connects to the internet, the Network Connectivity light blinks green.
- Your SmartLink device’s Ethernet port lights display green for successful connection status and yellow for network activity.
- Plug one end of the USB cable into your SmartLink device and the other end into the back of the franking machine.
- Your SmartLink device’s lights change colour.
- Once a network connection has been established, your SmartLink device’s USB Connectivity light turns green, and the Network Connectivity light blinks green.
- Attach your SmartLink device to your franking machine with the adhesive fastener strips.
