Error EDE15 on the DM60

Delete the Exception log if error EDE15 appears.

Issue

Error EDE15 appears when the franking machine is connecting to Pitney Bowes. The franking machine may also reboot or freeze with dots on the screen.

Resolution

Watch this video or follow the instructions below to resolve error EDE15.

  1. From the Home screen, select an account if accounting is enabled.
  2. Enter 6946 and then press Funds. Service Mode 1. Diagnostics appears.

  3. Press 3 and then press 0.
  4. Press 2 to select Delete Flash File.

  5. Press Review down until Exception.log appears.

  6. Press Enter/yes.
    Important: Ensure you only delete the Exception log.
  7. Press Enter/yes again to confirm deletion.

  8. Reboot the franking machine by disconnecting and then reconnecting the power cable.
  9. If the franking machine is not connected, connect it via a SmartLink device, PC Meter Connect or a Communication device so it can communicate with the Pitney Bowes Data Centre.
  10. Press Funds.

  11. Press Review down until Check Balance Available? appears.

  12. Press Enter/yes.
  13. Once the balance appears press Enter/yes.

  14. If prompted, press No to refill postage.
  15. System update required-please wait appears. Follow the on-screen prompts. The new rates will activate automatically on the rate change date.
