Resolve "System.Exception: Error uploading file to: sftp.usps.com" when running USPS ERR End of Day via SFTP and proxy server in SendSuite Live

Learn how to resolve the error "System.Exception: Error uploading file to: sftp.usps.com" when running End of Day with the USPS ERR account configured to use SFTP with a proxy server in SendSuite Live.

Issue

When running End of Day in SendSuite® Live with the USPS ERR account set up to use the SFTP communication method with a proxy server, the following error is displayed:

System.Exception: Error uploading file to: sftp.usps.com with user ******** and password *************** ---> nsoftware.IPWorksSSH.IPWorksSSHSftpException: Connection failed: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond

Cause

The SFTP method requires a static public-facing IP address that USPS can add to their white list. Proxy servers cause the public-facing IP address to change. Therefore, SendSuite Live does not support USPS ERR via SFTP with a proxy server.

SendSuite Live does not support USPS ERR via SFTP with a proxy server.

To process USPS ERR with a proxy server, contact Pitney Bowes software support to request that PDX communication be enabled.
