Also, refer to the Possible Breaking Changes and XML Schema Changes sections of these release notes.

New, Generation 2 View project template (3.1), now includes new fields and updated search results grid. Added several project settings controlling the display of the new and existing fields, and enhancing the search behavior.

Meters. FSMS Account Meters Set to Inactive when Disconnected from FedEx Server

New functionality added for FedEx Server Meter pools. These can now differentiate between:

  • Manually deactivated pool.
  • A pool deactivated due to an error from FSMS.
  • If deactivated due to an error, after 5 minutes, the pool will "retry" connecting to the server for any transactions processed after the error occurred. No changes in behavior have been applied for "non-pooled" environments.

SUPPORT ITEMS

This section includes items that have been raised via Support and escalated to Development for resolution within this release.

UPS API. Service Name Change and Support for German Origin Services

The following changes have been made:

  • UPS Saver is now UPS Worldwide Saver

And for German origin:

  • UPS Worldwide Expedited SM is UPS Expedited SM
  • UPS Worldwide Express SM is UPS Express SM
  • UPS Saver is UPS Worldwide Saver

These match the naming given in UPS API documentation. UPS API Carrier Attributes and Setup UPS API have been updated.

Proof of Delivery JOC. Updated URL

Updated the Proof of Delivery control to always use the load balanced Net Bios name, rather than the public client URL for the template.

Windows Printing. Resolved Issue with Printing Cover Sheets

Resolved an issue with printing Cover Sheets via Windows printer type.

DHL. Improved Label Handling when Shipping to Restricted Countries

All labels are now correctly stored and associated for DHL Server shipments to restricted countries.

ERR. USPS. Removed Application Identifier from Legacy USPS ERR Tracking Numbers

The “91” application identifier has been removed from legacy tracking numbers. This restores the tracking number length back to 20 digits which was used in all versions prior to 7.14.02.

Admin. Default Date Format Now Used for Administrators in Windows Authentication

The default (en-US) date format is now used for administrators within the Shipment Server configuration screens. This change only applies to users that are not explicitly added as users within the database. Such users use the format associated with their user.

OTHER CHANGES

This section contains information about minor changes and corrections. It can include issues raised in previous releases that have been corrected.

FedEx Server. Improvements

The following improvements/updates are included in this release:

  • Improved diagnostics logging when multiple transactions are sent. For example, during an End of Day, rather than just logging multiple generic “Carrier Request”, the log now indicates the type of request being sent, such as: "Carrier Transaction #1 (Version Capture)".
  • An update has been made within the consolidated logic whereby the system might not detect the correct server to use for a consolidated close.
  • An update has been made to ignore files containing documents (with underscores '_' in the name) to avoid such files being selected for labels.
  • An update has been made so that IPD multi-piece transactions will now send a request per package rather than using a single request.
  • An improvement has been made to transactions that return a single label within the FedEx response. Previously, any returned label content was ignored and all transactions would fetch the label from the server directly. This content is now used if the server returns it, thus preventing an extra call to the server share. It is worth noting that, at this time, a limited number of transactions (consolidated shipping) will use this logic.
  • A performance improvement has been made to parsing FedEx request and response transactions.
  • Finally, if an account is deleted, all relevant user permissions for that account are also removed.

Parcel Entry JOCs. Improved Handling of Float Data

The hazardous and parcel line item controls have improved handling of ‘missing’ data for values such as floats. This relates to recalling the data from items such as ship requests and favorites. Previously, if empty values were placed for floating point data, this would cause the control to error. Now, zero is assumed if such data is missing or blank.

Windows Authentication Mode. Users Can Now See All Internationalization Translations

Project templates scripting and the Login screen will now correctly apply translations. Previously, English text would appear when the translation failed.

Outputs. Changed Hazardous Shippers Declaration Default Grouping

Hazardous Shippers Declaration will now be generated per shipment not per package. Also, refer to the Possible Breaking Changes section of these release notes.

SmartShop JOC. Now Reports Actual Expanded Height

The SmartShop control within Generation 2 template will now report the full expanded height rather than the default height. This change means the outer expandable panel is now larger, and the Next and Previous buttons on the workflow will always be shown underneath the entire control. This change means that these buttons can be clicked by users who are using browsers that ignore z-index rules and favor control boundary rules instead (Google Chrome).

Windows Authentication. Reduced Active Directory Queries for Administrators

Logged Active Directory trace records will now cache for 20 minutes for Administrator users (Caching is controlled by the Enable Caching setting in Shipment Server Config utility). This will reduce the excessive number of logs created each time administrators change screen.

FedEx SmartPost Server. Added Delivery Confirmation Barcode for Returns

The SmartPost Delivery Confirmation barcode is now returned in the Return Response. Tracking Number returned by the carrier is now stored in the WayBillNumber2 field.

DHL International. Duty Account Number Now Passed for Additional Billing Methods

The DutyAccountNumber element is now passed automatically for Sender Duty payments to DHL International. Also, if a value is present in the PierbridgeShipRequest/International/Duty/AccountNumber node, then it is now passed for Third Party duty billing.

Login Screen. Restored Ability to Use Tenant Selection Dropdown During Login

The behavior of the tenant selection dropdown control has been restored.

Pierbridge Ship Release Response. All Custom Elements Included in Response

The carrier name and service name elements are now returned on successful ship release responses. This restores behavior present in earlier versions.
